چکیده
AbstractBackground Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is frequently diagnosed as multinodular. This study aims to assess prognostic factors for survival and identify patients with multiple HCC who may benefit from surgery beyond the Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer classification indications. Methods retrospective included all consecutive 4 Italian tertiary centers receiving liver resection naive between 1990 2012 have a potential follow-up of 5 years. Results Included were 144. Ninety-day morbidity mortality rates 38.3% 8.3%, respectively. The 5-year overall disease-free 33.3% 19.1%, Tumor size <3 cm, bilirubin, Child-Pugh A, BCLC-A stage, being within "up-to-7" criteria, minor resections resulted in factors. score an independent factor. Conclusions Surgery be related good outcomes selected HCC.

متن کاملLong-term survival after resection of hepatocellular carcinoma
BACKGROUNDS/AIMS Although recent advances in surgical techniques and alternative treatment, the long-term survival >5 years after liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is still unsatisfactory due to the high recurrence rate compared with other solid organ cancers. This study was conducted to analyze long-term survival after HCC resection and to develop an optimal strategy to achiev...
متن کاملLong-term prognosis after resection of cryptogenic hepatocellular carcinoma
BACKGROUND We investigated the patterns and predictors of recurrence and survival in cryptogenic non-B, non-C, non-alcoholic hepatocellular carcinoma (CR-HCC). We compared the findings with those hepatitis virus B (B) and hepatitis virus C (C)-HCC. CR-HCC does not include HCC developed on NASH. METHODS From 1990 to 2011, of 676 patients who underwent primary curative liver resection as initia...
